Carpe Diem prompt: Thin Ice
Haiku Circle prompt: Sound

fragile lives encased
in bubbles cold and blue
until one day is heard
sounds of thin ice snapping

fragile lives
encased in thin ice
breaking through

  1. All lovely. I really like seeing the different versions. The second one touches me the most. Fragile breaking through...

  3. A lot of great set of images on ice. I can actually add one that comes from my skating.

    Singing skates
    melody will change
    on thin ice

Actually when you skate on thin ice on a like, there is a singing sound, and you can hear on the pitch if it gets thinner. Risky :-)

  4. Reading your excellent haiku,
all of a sudden I thought of the sound of the ice that creaks and crackles when the big rig trucks go over ice in the winter...
    Ice Road Truckers.

    Thank you.
    Peace

  5. I'd all but forgotten about ice skating and the sounds of the skates on the ice...thank you. As a child, it was skating on a pond in a park for me.
    Peace,
    Siggi

  6. Thankfully the impending predicted storm (that did in fact shut everything down for the day) didn't quite reach us. Less ice, can be good, especially when it is not on the road.

I like that from Brudberg...singing ice. The way the wind whistles through ice is 'cool' too.
